About Our Department:

Human Resources is responsible for all aspects of personnel administration including Civil Service competitive examinations, recruitment, employee onboarding, benefits administration, compensation, labor relations, contract negotiations, diversity & inclusion, civil rights compliance, workforce safety and wellness, risk management, professional development and a wide variety of other HR initiatives.

From firefighters to court reporters, and lifeguards, we employ approximately 350 people in a variety of full-time, part-time and seasonal positions, both non-bargaining and through our bargaining agreements with AFSCME Local #1562, Fraternal Order of Police, First Capital Lodge #59 and International Association of Firefighters Local 300.   

Human Resources provides leadership and oversight for our City Directors, Managers and Elected Officials ensuring that each member of the City of Chillicothe workforce has the tools, skills, and support to perform their jobs as strategic business partners to City agencies.
